Ratcliffe publicly backed Ruben Amorim this season and the 40-year-old Portuguese coach faces a huge task ahead of him at Old Trafford for the short and long term.
Amorim is the sixth permanent United manager in the Old Trafford hot seat since Sir Alex Ferguson bowed out of the Red Devils after his historic reign ended in 2013.
The ex-Sporting CP head coach faces no easy task in bringing back the Red Devils’ prestige from the Ferguson era, something Ratcliffe has been desperately eager to witness.
