Manchester United interest in player ‘growing more and more’ – Talent being watched closely

Manchester United’s interest in Liga de Quito youngster Ederson Castillo is ‘growing more and more’.

That’s according to journalist Johanna Calderon, via DeUnaSF. She reports that Manchester Uniteda are keeping a very close eye on the 16-year-old.

A report from Bolavip earlier this week stated that Manchester United are one of several European sides tracking Castillo at this moment in time.

He recently won the under-19 title with Liga de Quito and is seen as one of the club’s brightest academy prospects. He’s already trained with the senior squad on several occasions and has been noted in Europe as well.

Calderon backs that up, insisting that Manchester United’s interest is genuine while providing a profile on the youngster and why he’s so highly rated.

“The interest from Manchester United in Ederson Castillo is growing more and more,” she said.

“By the way, in March he renewed with Liga Deportiva Universitaria for three seasons. He debuted at fifteen years old with Pablo ‘Vitamina’ Sánchez, who was the one who gave him the opportunity.

“He’s a player who just turned seventeen on Wednesday. He was a standout in the under-19 championship with Liga Deportiva Universitaria. The coach likes him too because they’ve seen precisely the personality he has to play in midfield; he finds body posture in addition to the interpretation to find those spaces.

“So, this kid has a good future, who in June had an internship at Anderlecht for two weeks. What is another team? That was scouting Ederson Castillo, let’s see at the end of the season what will be.”

Signing Ecuadorian talent is very in vogue at this moment in time. Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all targeted teenagers of late and clubs in Europe are very much targeting the country.

Manchester United’s scouting of Castillo certainly falls into that bracket. He’s a name to keep an eye on moving forwards. It’s likely that those in charge at Old Trafford aren’t the only ones keeping an eye on him.
