Manchester United vs AFC Bournemouth team news and match preview
Man Utd could allow the homegrown midfielder to leave the club during the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old is unhappy with his recent lack of playing time for his boyhood club and has yet to start a Premier League match this season. Mainoo requested to leave the club on loan in the final days of the summer transfer window and is expected to request another loan departure next month.
Mainoo has not been named in an England squad since Thomas Tuchel started his role as head coach and the midfielder knows there is little chance of him going to next summer's World Cup unless he is playing regularly at club level. Amorim has come under fierce criticism from several pundits for his perceived lack of faith in the academy graduate, who he believes has already had plenty of opportunities under him.

Amorim makes Mainoo transfer admission
Kobbie Mainoo will likely be on the bench when Manchester United host AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League on Monday night and speaking ahead of the match, Ruben Amorim was asked whether the midfielder had spoken to him about a possible transfer.
"First of all, I said the same thing," Amorim began. "The team comes first and if Kobbie comes to me and talks to me, I will talk to him. I'm not going to say what I'm going to say to Kobbie but I will be really pleased if Kobbie comes to talk to me about that. I just want my players happy and I understand that every individual has their goals. The frustration doesn't help anybody. But again, the focus is in this game and we will see if that happens."
He added: "Not about that. I had some conversations with him, especially last year, and with other players but about that subject, no. I didn't speak with him."
Amorim was then asked if he would be open to such honest conversations with a player about their lack of playing time. He said: "Completely open. I think that is clear. What I don't promise is that I have my ideas and that is also clear. That I will not change if I don't believe it but I'm open to speak with any player. I love that.
"The door is open for any player to change my mind. But in the end it's going to be the training, the games. Of course, he's not playing so many games, but Kobbie has had opportunities, especially last year. Everyone has.
Amass is now struggling in Championship. Chido is not always a starter in under 21. All these guys played when a lot of people were saying sack the manager. So you can see that I'm not worried. In that time, everybody. So I'm not here. I'm just look at the team and try to win the next game and try to think about the team.
I will do that until the end. Kobbie is one more player that I understand all the interest. I understand how important it is. The hopes that you guys as an English guys has. I also just want to win and if he's the right guy, I will put him. No problem."
