Everton have been making checks on several players ahead of the fast-approaching January transfer window.
David Moyes is expected to make three new additions this winter, with a striker, a midfielder and a full-back viewed as priorities.
Everton have been exploring a deal to sign Antonee Robinson from Fulham, and it’s understood that he would be open to returning to his former club.

Troy Parrott, Ivan Toney and Richarlison have all been linked to the Hill Dickinson, although the latter two are deemed unlikely.
The Toffees also touched base with Kobbie Mainoo’s agent last month, and now Manchester United have given a definitive response on whether they’d consider sanctioning his sale in January.

Man United make their stance on Everton target Kobbie Mainoo very clear
Mainoo has been linked with a move to Everton since the summer transfer window, so clearly Moyes has been keeping very close tabs on his situation at Man United.
The England international has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim and has been reduced to just 183 minutes of Premier League football.

As such, it looked for a while as though he’d be allowed to depart this winter, with Everton well-placed to land his signature.

However, according to talkSPORT, United chiefs have made it very clear that Mainoo will not be leaving Old Trafford.
The board have no intention of sanctioning his sale as they’re certain he will still have a bright future at the club.
So, Everton will have to look elsewhere for a midfielder.
Everton have their own Kobbie Mainoo in Harrison Armstrong
It does seem a little odd that Everton are looking at midfielders, considering they have an exceptional talent on their books in Harrison Armstrong.
Armstrong has been flourishing at Preston North End this season, with some fans tipping the Everton loanee to become England captain one day.

Moyes is considering recalling Armstrong from his loan spell, however, the preference is for him to stay and develop further in the Championship.
The England youth international will more than likely be a regular starter for the Toffees next season, so it’d make little sense to go out and spend £30m on a new midfielder.
Plus, Merlin Rohl should be back from his injury very soon, as he’s back on the grass at Finch Farm.
