Leeds United are eyeing a surprise move to sign Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee in January, according to reports in Italy.
The Elland Road side are looking to bring in more attacking firepower to Daniel Farke’s squad at the turn of the year and have reportedly identified Zirkzee as a potential option.
The Dutchman could depart Old Trafford next month amid his limited involvement under Ruben Amorim, with three starts and six appearances off the bench so far this season.
Zirkzee, who joined United from Italian side Bologna in the summer of 2024, is under contract until June 2029, earning a reported £130,000 per week.

According to Italian publication Il Messaggero, both Leeds and West Ham have recently enquired about Zirkzee ahead of the market reopening in January.
However, the ‘elite’ Dutchman is unlikely to be tempted by interest from Premier League clubs who appear set for a relegation battle at the end of the campaign.
Instead, he has reportedly set his sights on a return to Italy, where both Roma and AC Milan are emerging as suitors.
Zirkzee would be particularly keen on a move to the Stadio Olimpico, with Roma pushing for the move after recently holding initial talks with Man United.
Zirkzee enjoyed an impressive spell in Serie A with Bologna before joining United almost 18 months ago, scoring 14 goals and providing nine assists in 58 appearances in Italy.
The Dutchman has registered just eight goals and three assists in as many appearances at Old Trafford, including just one goal this season in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last month.
After barely featuring in the first 11 games, Zirkzee was handed three starts following an injury to Benjamin Sesko, but returned to the bench for the 4-1 win at Wolves last week.

Leeds are looking to bring in reinforcements to Farke’s attacking options in the new year, with Bodo/Glimt ace Jens-Petter Hauge emerging as another potential target.
According to reports, Leeds are admirers of the Norway international amid his impressive season with Bodo/Glimt, with 11 goals and nine assists in 38 appearances.
Hauge, who is believed to be open to a January move, was also on the scoresheet three times in the Champions League, netting in draws with Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur.
