With the January transfer window fast approaching, attention is turning to the upcoming mid-season window.
Several clubs across the Premier League will likely want to delve into the market to bolster their respective squads in the new year, including Manchester United.
The Red Devils currently sit eighth in the top flight table, but victory against Bournemouth on Monday evening will move Ruben Amorim’s side into the top five.
Now, it appears that United are interested in a former Premier League player.
As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, United are interested in Al Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves and could look to bring the midfielder back to England.
The report claims that United boss Amorim is keen to bolster his midfield at the earliest opportunity and has identified Neves, 28, as his top target to do so.

Neves joined Al Hilal from Premier League side Wolves in 2023, having made more than 250 appearances for the Midlands club during a successful spell at Molineux.
Since moving to Saudi Arabia, the Portuguese has scored 14 goals and provided 25 assists in 106 appearances across all competitions, but the report suggests that his time in the Middle East could be coming to an end.
Neves is said to be keen on the idea of a return to a top European league, and Amorin is keen to bring him to Old Trafford.
Amorim found himself under pressure after a disastrous first 12 months in charge at Old Trafford, but the report suggests that he has gained the trust of those in charge of the club in recent months with his side having shown huge improvement.
While Al Hilal are understandably keen to keep hold of Neves, his current contract with the Pro League side is set to expire at the end of the season and he could therefore be on his way back to England in 2026.
