BREAKING Man Utd fans furious as Bournemouth star not shown'clear red card'after throat grab

Antoine Semenyo escaped a red card despite grabbing Diogo Dalot round the throat in Manchester United and Bournemouth's Premier League clash.

The Cherries winger had levelled the scores for the visitors at Old Trafford in the Monday night game, but just minutes later, he was fortunate not to be sent off after a moment of madness.

Semenyo was fouled by Dalot as he jumped for a header. The Portuguese defender nudged him in the back, sending the Bournemouth ace crashing to the floor. Unsurprisingly, Semenyo was livid with Dalot and confronted the United wing-back before losing his cool and aiming a grab at his neck.

Dalot didn't overreact to the situation, remaining on his feet, potentially saving Semenyo from leaving referee Simon Hooper no choice but to show the red card.

Bruno Fernandes led the United protests but Hooper decided the foul and subsequent grab was worthy of a yellow card each. VAR checked the incident but opted not to intervene.

United fans took to social media to vent their anger, arguing that Casemiro saw red against Crystal Palace previously for a similar incident.

"How has Antoine Semenyo not gotten a red card here???" one user asked. A second bemused fan added: "Casemiro got a red card for that same thing Semenyo did…"

A third argued: "Semenyo's just pushed him straight in the throat/face. A red? Lashed out." Another fumed: "Remember when Casemiro got a red card for literally exactly what Semenyo just did there."

United had raced out of the traps as Ruben Amorim's side looked to get over their woeful last two outings at Old Trafford - a 1-0 defeat to Everton and 1-1 draw against West Ham.

And his side duly produced when Amad Diallo headed in one of the hosts' plethora of chances. But United were unable to find a second goal and Semenyo pounced on weak Luke Shaw defending to drive away and fire home an equaliser.

However, United deservedly retook their lead on the stroke of half-time when Djorde Petrovic made a mess of keeping out Casmeiro's header from a corner deep in added time.

United's hard work was undone again with more shaky defending just 30 seconds into the second half when Evanilson equalised for the visitors.
