Man Utd player ratings vs Bournemouth: Two heroes earn 8/10s as a calamitous 3/10 duo sparks Amorim concern

Manchester United and Bournemouth played a highly entertaining 4-4 draw at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday evening.

United manager Ruben Amorim made one change to his side with Leny Yoro replacing Noussair Mazraoui.

The Red Devils exploded out of the blocks, with Amad Diallo getting the crowd roaring by powering a header into the net.

Bournemouth responded swiftly, as Antoine Semenyo punished a moment of defensive sloppiness to restore parity.

Casemiro powered United ahead again at the cusp of half time.

The visitors emerged from the break with renewed ferocity, firing in two quick goals to stun Old Trafford and seize the lead.

Sensing momentum slipping away, Amorim rolled the dice with bold substitutions to revive his side’s spark.

Captain Bruno Fernandes dragged United back into the contest with a sublime free-kick that oozed class and conviction, before Matheus Cunha completed the turnaround to make it 4–3.

Yet the drama was far from over, as Junior Kroupi struck late to seal an astonishing eight-goal thriller that left both sets of fans breathless.

Player Ratings

Senne Lammens – 7/10

Positioned well to deny Marcus Tavernier’s header.

He should have done far better to prevent Semenyo’s equalising strike and appeared at fault for conceding from the free-kick.

Gets four bonus points for his spectacular 96th and 99th minute saves.

Leny Yoro – 3/10

Struggled defensively, getting outpaced on two occasions and failing to look up to the required standard. His substitution in the second half was fully justified.

Ayden Heaven – 4/10

Should have been far more decisive in closing down Evanilson and Kroupi for their goals, with his hesitancy proving costly at key moments.

Luke Shaw – 3/10

Beaten far too easily as he surrendered possession in the build-up to the first Bournemouth goal. He looked uncomfortable after being shifted to left wing-back in the closing stages.

Amad Diallo – 7/10

Tapped in one of the simplest goals of his career but struggled to maintain his influence after the interval.

He should have done better defensively when United conceded their fourth goal.

Diogo Dalot – 8/10

Delivered a delightful cross for the opener after outwitting the Bournemouth right-back, before being shifted to right centre-back.

Casemiro – 7/10

Capped off an impressive first half with a well-taken header, though he blemished his display by picking up a yellow card for a tactical foul and will now miss the trip to Aston Villa.

Bruno Fernandes – 8/10

Once again, Fernandes dictated the tempo from midfield and led by example.

His wicked in-swinging corner picked out Casemiro in space, registering his seventh assist of the campaign.

When United were desperately searching for inspiration, the captain delivered in emphatic fashion, thundering home an outrageous free-kick.

Bryan Mbeumo – 4/10

The Cameroon international should have shown greater composure after Dalot picked him out in the box during the first half.

He then miscued a volley from Cunha’s delightful delivery, summing up a frustrating display marked by wastefulness in the final third.

Mason Mount – 5/10

Tested Petrovic with a powerful early effort but struggled to maintain that influence as the game wore on.

Matheus Cunha – 7/10

Spurned golden opportunities when set up by Dalot and Fernandes. He floated in a sublime floated cross for Mbeumo, who should have done better.

Lively and involved throughout, Cunha was eventually rewarded with his second goal of the season.

Substitutes

Kobbie Mainoo – 6/10

Kept it simple but did not help United defensively.

Benjamin Sesko – 7/10

Played a key part for Cunha’s goal. Good cameo.

Lisandro Martinez – 6/10

He could make his first start of the season next week.

Joshua Zirkzee – NA

Too late to rate.

Patrick Dorgu – NA

Too late to rate.
