Manchester United have been dealt a new selection headache ahead of their upcoming Premier League match against Aston Villa. The setback occurred during their Monday night fixture against Bournemouth.
The Red Devils were held to a 4-4 draw with Bournemouth just days before they make the trip to Villa Park to face Villa this weekend.
Amad Diallo, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha were all on the score sheet for United. However, it wasn't enough to claim a victory with Antoine Semenyo, Evanlison, Marcus Tavernier and Eli Junior Kroupi all getting goals for the Cherries at Old Trafford.
Villa are now seven points ahead of United in third place in the Premier League table after their win over West Ham at the weekend.
Now, with Villa and United set to go head-to-head on Sunday, the Red Devils have been handed a fresh selection blow ahead of the fixture.
Casemiro was shown a yellow card by referee Simon Hooper for a foul on Tavernier which led to the Bournemouth forward scoring from the subsequent free-kick.
The yellow card for the challenge was Casemiro's seventh in the league so far this season but his fifth individual caution not including the two yellows he received in United's win over Chelsea in September.
As a result, Casemiro will now serve a one-match suspension, which means the Brazilian will miss the away trip to Villa Park at the weekend.
United will also be without Amad, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui for the clash against Villa, with the trio taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations for their respective countries over the next few weeks.
There may also be question marks over the fitness of Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt for the match between United and Villa, with the duo both missing the draw with Bournemouth due to injury.
