Manchester United 4-4 AFC Bournemouth match verdict and review
Man Utd were held to a chaotic 4-4 draw by AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League on Monday night.
Manchester United played out a classic as they drew 4-4 with AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League on Monday night. Ruben Amorim's side were excellent in attack, but were dreadful in defence during a chaotic clash at Old Trafford that either side felt they could have won.
Amad Diallo gave his side the deserved lead in the match, but Antoine Semenyo drew the sides level when he capitalised on a rare defensive error from Luke Shaw. United regained their advantage on the stroke of half-time when Casemiro headed in the back-post, before Bournemouth responded in style with goals from Evanilson and Marcus Tavernier in the space of six minutes.
Bruno Fernandes drew the teams level again when he scored a stunning free-kick and Matheus Cunha looked to have won it when he fired in a fourth goal. However, the away side weren't done and rescued a point when Eli Junior Kroupi took advantage of some more poor defensive work and found the back of the net.

Iraola praises four United players
Speaking after his side secured a point at Old Trafford, Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola praised four Manchester United players who he thought played well in the match. There was praise for Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes for the attacking threat they posed in the draw.
"Really difficult to explain," Iraola told reporters after the draw. "There were moments where you wanted the game to finish to take one point, but we are very close to scoring and maybe it is better it finishes, a lot of up and downs. United has been much better the first 20 minutes until we changed. 1-1 finishing strong the first half and concede this second goal. Happy apart from the first 20 minutes when they started better.
"They were punishing us a lot, especially with Amad and Mbeumo. Alex Jimenez has played really well, defending with Amad almost like a full-back, but all the matchups were good for us.
"We have scored four, conceded four, and the offensive players have scored. It is good for the confidence; we need to look at the goals conceded. The second I think, is very sloppy from a corner, the header is too soft, and I complain about the third, it is never a handball, but Bruno scores an incredible goal."
In his TV interview, Iraola also praised United goalkeeper Senne Lammens for the important saves he made in the final stages of the match. He told BBC Sport: "We struggled in the first 15-20 minutes. We made some adjustments but we were losing 1-0. From there I was quite happy with how the game was. The last two were massive chances, great saves from Lammens. We take a point. We can use a lot of good things from today but things to correct."
