Jamie Carragher paid Ruben Amorim the ultimate compliment after what he saw at Old Trafford

Ruben Amorim was left frustrated at Manchester United’s draw with Bournemouth but there was a lot to like about the performance.

Manchester United enjoyed a lightning-quick start at Old Trafford and took a deserved lead through Amad Diallo in what is his final match before leaving for AFCON.

Ultimately, United ended up getting embroiled in an eight-goal thriller to draw 4-4 with Bournemouth, but Ruben Amorim must be wondering how his side didn’t wrap up three points in the first half alone.

Amorim showed tactical flexibility by transitioning between his usual 3-4-2-1 shape and a 4-3-3 formation, and it resulted in a brilliant attacking performance.

Defensively, United let themselves down, but the entertaining display still drew praise from pundits, including Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

Ahead of the Bournemouth clash, Amorim played Ferguson-esque mind games by refusing to comment on whether the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo would be available.

“It was a throwback to United under Ferguson, when Neville was playing,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.

“For the majority of the game, Man Utd were absolutely fantastic.

“Bournemouth were not at the races in the first half but they were fantastic in the second half. What a game! Brilliant.”

Ruben Amorim has made Man United entertainers

It is hard to argue against United being the most entertaining team in the Premier League at the moment, although that is not always great for the stress levels of supporters.

Only Manchester City have scored more goals than United this season, and on average, there have been 3.5 goals per Premier League match involving the Red Devils this season.
