Ruben Amorim changed the game vs Bournemouth with decision he's usually reluctant to make

Manchester United drew 4-4 with Bournemouth on Monday night, but it could have been a lot worse for the Red Devils.

It was another early second-half collapse, which put Manchester United on the track to defeat, conceding twice in six minutes.

This gave Bournemouth a 2-3 lead in the 51st minute, minutes after United had started the half with a 2-1 lead. Due to this turnaround, United’s leading at half-time record was in jeopardy, and Ruben Amorim had to act.

Amorim got his substitutions spot on, and United earned a 4-4 draw against Bournemouth, which should really have been a win, but there were still positives to take.

United had numerous winners against Bournemouth, and one of them will have surprised Amorim.

Kobbie Mainoo changed the game for Manchester United

United were heading for a record-breaking defeat against Bournemouth, and this prompted Amorim into action as he turned to Kobbie Mainoo off the bench.

Mainoo replaced Casemiro and immediately brought control to the United midfield, which was a massive improvement and helped United get back into the game.

Amorim is usually reluctant to give Mainoo long stints in the team, but against the Cherries, he got the best part of half an hour.

Mainoo made it count, taking the game into his own hands and proving exactly why he deserves more minutes than Amorim has been giving him this season.

The fanbase is united in that Mainoo deserves better, and this performance will only further his argument. However, the situation with Mainoo’s half-brother might also come into effect.

Mainoo was given enough time to actually make an impact in this game and long may this continue as he was excellent.

Mainoo surely starts against Aston Villa with Casemiro suspended

Mainoo is yet to start a league game for United this season, but his outing against Bournemouth is among the best we’ve seen from the 20-year-old.

Mainoo is tipped for a January loan exit due to his frustrations over a lack of minutes, but that could change.

This is because Casemiro’s yellow against Bournemouth means he will now be suspended for this clash at Villa Park, and Mainoo surely starts over Manuel Ugarte.

Mainoo quite simply needs to start ahead of the Uruguayan, who has been bad this season when playing, and the United academy graduate, therefore, must start.
