Manchester United are developing their transfer plans in preparation for the January window, with Ruben Amorim's squad pursuing a Champions League spot after failing to secure European qualification last season.
The club spent a significant amount of money in the summer, with the majority of United's transfer funds allocated to a new attacking trio of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko. Senne Lammens was also brought in to address the club's goalkeeping concerns, though their squad still needs strengthening.
United have already been rumoured with various potential signings, including Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo. Here's a look at of some of the stories circulating around Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim delivers Antoine Semenyo verdict
Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo has been heavily linked with a January transfer. United were among numerous clubs to express interest in the Ghana international before he extended his contract in the summer.
Semenyo's deal reportedly contains a £65million release clause, which becomes effective next month. This has sparked rumours that United might rekindle their pursuit, but Amorim has played down the club's chances of signing the Cherries striker.
The United manager said: "They have a special player. They have many good players but they have a special player in Semenyo. [He] can play both sides with both feet."

However, when questioned about a potential deal for Semenyo, Amorim responded: "No, it's not the case. I think there is a lot of special players in the league. What I feel is that it's to summarise the top manager, top team. I really like the team and the top player. I think he is a special player."
Man United linked with £40m target
Manchester United have been linked to several midfield targets, with Bournemouth's Tyler Adams now emerging as a fresh option on that list. Amorim's squad have been tipped to bolster their midfield ranks, having relied on an unexpected pairing of Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes for much of the campaign.
According to the Daily Mail, Adams has been mentioned as a potential midfield signing. The 26-year-old carries a £40m price tag, a substantially cheaper alternative to Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton or Brighton sensation Carlos Baleba.

Adams has proven instrumental for Andoni Iraola's outfit during the current campaign. The United States international made the switch to the Cherries from Leeds in 2023. His initial desire to compete in the Premier League was sparked during his stint at RB Leipzig following a memorable encounter against United at Old Trafford.
"It's just a special occasion," Adams said about United's home ground. "This is what you grow up watching, whether you're a fan or not. A fan of Manchester United walking into Old Trafford will change your perspective on everything.
"I played against Manchester United at Old Trafford during Covid with RB Leipzig. That was the first time I walked into Old Trafford and I was like, my dream is really to play in the Premier League because this is what it's about right here."
