Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United have all been linked with a move for former Bristol City star Antoine Semenyo as the battle for his signature hots up.

The AFC Bournemouth forward has a £65 million release clause in his contract, which has put him on the radar of England’s elite clubs.

Semenyo, who moved from the Robins to the Cherries in January 2023 for an initial fee reported to be around £10 million, had a crucial 20% sell-on clause on any future profit written into his contract.

If a top-flight club triggers the full £65 million clause, Bournemouth stands to make approximately £55 million in profit. As a result of this clause, £11 million is now destined to land in the coffers of Bristol City.

The transfer saga is gathering pace, with various outlets reporting on the intense competition:

Manchester City are reportedly leading the race, with Pep Guardiola said to be a huge admirer of the Ghana international's dynamic style and pace, and the club prepared to trigger the massive release clause, as reports LiveScore.com

Liverpool are heavily linked, with reports from the Liverpool Echo suggesting the Anfield club views Semenyo as a potential January solution, particularly with star forward Mohamed Salah set to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Manchester United are also giving serious consideration to a January move, according to reports from ESPN and Football-Talk , as they look to add firepower to their frontline for the second half of the season. The Manchester Evening News added that Ruben Amorim labelled Antoine Semenyo a "special player" ahead of Manchester United's Premier League fixture with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Monday night

Semenyo had enjoyed another strong start to the season, although his form has wavered in the past few weeks. The 25-year-old hadn scored or assisted in any of his last seven games, before he netted in the crazy 4-4 draw at Old Trafford last night.

Former United defender Rio Ferdinand wants Semenyo to end up at Old Trafford, instead of Anfield or the Etihad Stadium and made his feelings clear on social media.

United tweeted: "Goal. Antoine Semenyo levels for the visitors." Ferdinand replied: "Don’t let him leave after the game," along with a crying laughing emoji.
