Kobbie Mainoo has taken to social media to share a message following Manchester United’s 4-4 draw with Bournemouth.

Mainoo was a second-half substitute for the game, receiving a warm reception from the Old Trafford crowd as he made his way onto the pitch. The cheers came amid reports over his future at the club ahead of the January transfer window.

The England international has struggled for regular game time under Ruben Amorim. In fact, he is yet to start a match in the Premier League this season.

It has led to speculation over his future with Italian side Napoli said to be showing an interest. Talk over his future ramped up again after the midfielder’s brother wore a T-shirt reading 'FREE KOBBIE MAINOO' during the game against Bournemouth, and posted it on social media.

Not long after the game, Mainoo himself also took to Instagram. He posted a picture of himself and fellow substitute Joshua Zirkzee. There was no caption included.

Zirkzee has also been linked with a move away from United in the January window, with the striker also struggling for regular game time for the club so far this season. The 24-year-old had started three games in a row in the Premier League, but has again found himself dropped to the bench.

He has come onto the pitch in the closing stages of the game against Bournemouth and last week’s win against Wolves.

There are varying reports over Zirkzee's future at Old Trafford. Over the weekend, it was reported that Roma are 'stepping up the pressure' to try and sign the striker, having received a 'green light' for the transfer.

That, however, came just days after it was claimed that Zirkzee was determined to remain at United and battle for his place in the team.

Amid talk over Mainoo's future, Amorim made his stance clear. "The team comes first and if Kobbie comes to me and talks to me, I will talk to him," he said.

"I'm not going to say what I'm going to say to Kobbie but I will be really pleased if Kobbie comes to talk to me about that. I just want my players happy and I understand that every individual has their goals.

"The frustration doesn't help anybody. But again, the focus is on this game and we will see if that happens. I had some conversations with him, especially last year, and with other players but about that subject, no. I didn't speak with him."
