Boubacar Kamara and Matty Cash are walking a disciplinary tightrope in the Premier League.

Both players were booked during Aston Villa’s 3–2 win away at West Ham on Sunday, leaving them just one yellow card away from a one-match suspension.

Kamara and Cash now each have four bookings after 15 Premier League matches and will need to be cautious when Villa face Manchester United this coming Sunday.

Under the FA’s disciplinary rules, any player who receives five yellow cards within their club’s first 19 Premier League matches of the season must serve a one-match suspension in the competition.

Premier League yellow cards do not carry over into the FA Cup or EFL Cup.

As a result, if Kamara and Cash avoid picking up another booking in Villa’s next four league fixtures, they will pass the threshold and escape a ban.

Following Sunday’s clash with Manchester United, Villa travel to Chelsea and Arsenal before hosting Nottingham Forest on Saturday, January 3.

Elsewhere, John McGinn has collected three Premier League bookings this season, while Amadou Onana, Lucas Digne, Marco Bizot, Emi Buendia and Morgan Rogers are all currently on two.

Players who accumulate 10 yellow cards in Premier League matches up to and including their side’s 32nd fixture will receive a two-match suspension in the competition.
