In November there multiple big claims about Crystal Palace interest in Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey, before things went quiet.
Oliver Glasner was believed to be directly involved in the move and talks were ongoing.
TuttoSport now report on Crystal Palace’s interest in Juventus’ João Mário today.
The newspaper cover the interest Boey, who was also a Bianconeri target in the summer. Should the Eagles fail to land the Bayern player, João Mário will be the alternative.
Crystal Palace have already made ‘initial enquiries’ about signing the 25-year-old, who is struggling for game time in Turin. His last Serie A appearance for Juve came in early November, and his last start came in September.
Joao Mario arrived at Juve in the summer for €11.4m. If a fee around that amount is offered, the Portuguese will be sold next month, and it’s insinuated a transfer would be easy to agree.
The 25-year-old hasn’t manage to impress everyone since his summer arrival. At the time of João Mário’s arrival from FC Porto, it appeared Juventus saw him as a market opportunity who they could quickly flip.
At that time, there was interest from the Premier League, and likely a belief they could make a quick profit. It may not work out quite that way, but Crystal Palace or someone else could help prevent a loss.
