For the third successive match, Semenyo found the back of the net against United. His goal in the first half drew Bournemouth level after Amad Diallo’s equaliser.
It was Semenyo’s seventh goal of the season, putting him joint-third on the top scorers list for 2025/26.

In Amorim’s system, Semenyo is an ideal wing-back for the 3-4-2-1 shape, and he proved his defensive capability at United.
As per SofaScore, Semenyo won eight duels and recovered the ball four times despite playing as a winger. In front of Amorim’s bench, Semenyo proved he has what it takes to thrive both in and out of possession.
Finally, Semenyo also showed his versatility against United. He started on the left up against Leny Yoro, but transitioned to play on the right for large portions of the game.
Amorim is experimenting with different formations at United, and Semenyo showed that he can adapt to multiple roles and positions.

In the first half, just moments after his goal, Semenyo was lucky to avoid a red card when he raised his hand to Diogo Dalot’s neck.
Referee Anthony Taylor decided to book Semenyo and Dalot for the incident, but the Bournemouth star easily could have been sent off.

Semenyo lashed out and could have cost Bournemouth, and that is one concern that Amorim and Ineos may have after watching him in action.
