Manchester United loanee Andre Onana has come in for criticism from his own manager after his recent performances.
It has been a difficult few months for Andre Onana after he was axed by Manchester United early in the season.
Onana’s Cameroon then failed to qualify for the World Cup, before he was dropped from the African Cup of Nations squad.
He is currently on loan at Trabzonspor, where he is playing regularly – but his most recent game did not go so well.

Andre Onana ‘warned’
Andre Onana’s Trabzonspor drew 3-3 with Besiktas in their most recent game, ending a streak of four wins in a row.
Trabzonspor fell 3-1 down inside the first half hour, before fighting back to claim a point.
Onana had a tough game, making only two saves while conceding three times.
The first goal was volleyed past Onana from close range, but it was preventable, with the shot sailing just past his head.

The second goal he conceded was worse, he was beaten at his near post with the shot squirming underneath his dive.
Speaking after the game, Onana’s coach Fatih Tekke hit out at Onana, saying that he needs to improve.
While he did not address his failed shot-stopping attempts, Tekke said that he has been concerned by Onana taking risks when playing out from the back.
He reveals that he has warned the goalkeeper, and feels that they got away with it against Besiktas, but is fearful he will be caught out.
Tekke was quoted via local outlet 61Saat: “I have been warning Andre for two weeks, he is someone we like. Onana knows this too. We don’t play spontaneously.
“He is one of the best when the ball is at his feet. Understanding football is something that requires a lot [of] attention. It’s a serious game, moments are very important.
“They didn’t put pressure on Onana when we had possession of the ball. Last week he made two more risky moves. He breaks down the opponent, but a mistake could have resulted in a very different outcome.”
Tekke might find that despite his desire to change Andre Onana, the goalkeeper is unlikely to switch up his playing style.

Andre Onana future
Andre Onana signed for Trabzonspor in September, amid limited options. United belatedly pushed him towards the exit after signing Senne Lammens on deadline day.
Trabzonspor had an opening after selling their goalkeeper to Galatasaray for a club record fee.
It remains to be seen whether Onana wants to play in Turkey on a full-time basis. It is most likely he will re-assess at the end of the season.

Not going to the African Cup of Nations can help Onana try and find some consistency as this season goes on, while his country’s World Cup qualification failure may help his club situation.
It means there is less likely to be a delay in addressing his future, and Onana should push to sign for a new club before Manchester United report for pre-season.
