Stoke City are among as many as 12 Championship clubs eyeing up Manchester United left-back Harry Amass for a potential January loan deal.
Amass, aged 18, has been playing regularly on loan at Sheffield Wednesday through the first half of the season, making 16 starts and scoring once, setting up another.
He has first team experience back at Old Trafford, making four starts in the Premier League last season and getting on the pitch in the Europa League too.
The Daily Mail's Man Utd insiders claim Stoke and Alex Neil's Millwall are among the teams who have taken note of his form, although he didn't escape a strange drive by from Ruben Amorim earlier this week.
Amorim, while talking about Kobbie Mainoo not going on loan, said: "In the end, it's going to be the training, the games. Of course. He's not playing so many games, but Kobbie has had opportunities, especially last year. Everyone has.
"Amass is now struggling in the Championship. Chido (Obi) is not always a starter in the under-21s. All these guys played when a lot of people were saying, 'Sack the manager'. So, you can see that I'm not worried."
It was following that rant that Amass posted a photograph on Instagram posing with his Sheffield Wednesday player of the month award. The Mail suggests that "Amass's camp are far from happy" with the comments.
Former Man Utd defender Rio Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel: “Amass is doing well at Sheffield Wednesday, a team struggling in what division, Championship? Man United’s a different problem. They had him here. If he was good enough, he would have been playing.
“It’s not like it’s a position where it’s Bruno’s position where you’ve got a perfect player playing there. There’s room for improvement at the left-back position. Amass was there.”
Aaron Cresswell and Eric Bocat have shared minutes for Stoke at left-back this season. Laurence Giani and Josh Bickerton are highly rated in the under-21s.
