Slowed down
Rashford has enjoyed a successful loan spell so far at the Camp Nou.
He has scored seven goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions this season for the Catalans.
Nonetheless, he had not scored since the start of November against Elche CF.
Drought over
This changed last night, though, as he bagged Barcelona’s second goal of the night to secure passage to the next round.
He was played in on goal, rounded the keeper, and fired a left-footed shot into the net in the final minute of the game to break the brave resistance from the home side.
In the 51st minute, he snuck in at the back post but his effort was stopped on the line.
His best chance came just moments before, though, when he was played one-on-one versus the keeper but could not lift it over him.
The forward had a total of four shots on goal, with every single one hitting the target.
What’s more, he had three key passes in the match and completed an impressive 88% of his passing attempts.
He was less successful taking players on, though, as he was only successful in completing one of his four dribble attempts.
Rashford also failed to influence the match in a defensive way, completing just one of his six ground duels.
The Englishman will next be in action when Barcelona travel to CF Villarreal in their final game before the winter break in Spain.
