Sheffield Wednesday star subject of Stoke City and Millwall interest as contact made - report

Middlesbrough boss Kim Hellberg's flying start and a good week for Leeds United and Sheffield United - The YP FootballTalk Podcast

Sheffield Wednesday’s on-loan Manchester United defender Harry Amass is reportedly of interest to Millwall and Stoke City.

In the dying embers of the summer window, Manchester United covered the finances to enable Amass to link up with the troubled Owls.

Their decision has paid off, as one of their most promising young prospects has developed at a swift rate in the Championship.

He has played regularly at left-back and was recently named Wednesday’s Player of the Month.

Rival interest in Harry Amass

Although the Red Devils are thought to be pleased with Amass’ strides in South Yorkshire, it appears they could have the option to test him higher up the Championship table.

According to Mail Online, Championship promotion-chasers Millwall and Stoke have both made contact over the 18-year-old’s availability.

It has been suggested a fresh agreement may need to be struck between Wednesday and Manchester United in January.

If there is rival interest in Amass, talks between the Owls and the Red Devils could be crucial with the former keen to retain his services.

Sheffield Wednesday as a destination for Premier League prospects

The 2025/26 campaign has been tough for Wednesday, although the club have arguably made themselves an attractive destination for Premier League prospects looking for loan spells.

"I think we have done a great job for Harry. His individual development has been amazing with all we're doing, individual feedback from his training, from the games. His physical development has been good. A lot of things go in the right direction."

Amass has made 16 appearances for the Owls, registering one goal and one assist.
