Joshua Zirkzee has been linked with a move away from Man United in the January transfer window.

The Dutchman has insisted that he would like to stay at United, but he has been linked with moves to join Premier League rivals West Ham. It is understood that Serie A club Roma is also keen to sign Zirkzee as they look to strengthen their striker spot for a potential title fight in the second half of the season.

Zirkzee joined United for a fee of around £34 million in the summer of 2024, but he has since struggled, and, so the Red Devils could look to sell him in order to help boost their squad in other positions.

Man United could swap Zirkzee for Munoz

Munoz has made 14 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists, and if United were to sign him, it would allow Amad Diallo the freedom to take a more attacking position rather than filling in at the right-wing-back position.

Seeing as Palace will likely be reluctant to sell the 29-year-old in January, Man United may have to offer a player in part-exchange rather than just cash to tempt the Eagles to sell Munoz.

Seeing as Palace have a lack of depth at the striker position behind Jean-Philippe Mateta, they could offer Zirkzee in a swap, with the caveat that Palace would be getting a proven Premier League striker out of it. Furthermore, both players are estimated to have a similar value as Munoz is valued at around £34m.

Munoz has said he ‘dreams’ of a Man United move

It hasn’t just been reports that have linked United to signing Munoz, as the player has previously expressed his desire to move to a team like the Red Devils. He was quoted by 3AddedMinutes earlier this season: “If you ask me, it would be a dream to play for one of these clubs, whether it’s Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, or Manchester United.

“I think I’m working towards that. I strive every day to one day attract the attention of one of these clubs, because for me, it’s a dream to get there.”

Munoz’s performances this season have certainly attracted the interest of Man United, but it remains to be seen whether a deal would be possible, as Palace will be reluctant to sell in a season where they are competing for a European trophy.
