Manchester United have many dilemmas to solve over the coming weeks.
Ruben Amorim has finally got Manchester United’s attacking working, with the Red Devils netting eight goals in the last two games.
And just as that happens – two of the team’s most exciting players are no longer available for selection, Amad and Bryan Mbeumo.

Along with Noussair Mazraoui, the trio are heading to the African Cup of Nations and will miss the remaining fixtures in December, and some in January.
This is more inconsistency Manchester United have to deal with, amid injuries suffered to new signings Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko to start the season.
Now both players are fit, and United need the pair to step up.

Bryan Mbeumo is Manchester United’s top goalscorer with seven goals in all competitions to date this season.

But the Cameroon international is about a lot more than just scoring goals, and one of his many duties has been taking set pieces.
Mbeumo has taken 22 corner kicks in the Premier League this season, a figure that is second only to Bruno Fernandes’ 38.
Amad (8), Mason Mount (6), and Kobbie Mainoo (1) are the only other United players to take a corner this season.
Remarkably, Matheus Cunha has not taken a single one.
This is a duty we would expect the Brazilian to now take up, with both Mbeumo and Amad absent, having combined to take 30 of United’s 75 corner kicks in the league this season.

Cunha scored direct from corner vs Man Utd
It feels a little odd that Matheus Cunha has not taken a single corner kick this season, since joining Manchester United.
Cunha scored directly from a corner kick for Wolves against Manchester United at Molineux on Boxing Day in December 2024.
Ruben Amorim’s side were beaten 2-0, with Cunha’s free-kick sailing over Andre Onana and straight into the net.
Last season Cunha took 73 corners for Wolves in the Premier League, more than any player in their entire team.

It has been an odd decision from United that he has not been tasked to take a single one for the team so far.
United have a strong record from set pieces this season, and so Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff may simply have been happy with how it’s working.
Now with Mbeumo off, and United needing Cunha to step up, giving him a little extra responsibility could help the team.
He is more than capable, and this is the ideal way to build on his man of the match display against Bournemouth.
