Bernardo returned to the starting line-up for his side's 2-1 defeat to Dundee United, which signalled a fourth loss on the spin for Nancy as Celtic manager.
This result signalled unrest, both in the away stand and online, as many supporters called for the Frenchman's dismissal after just two weeks.
However, Bernardo has pledged his support to the man who replaced Martin O'Neill in the dugout, insisting that the players are behind the methodology, despite it not translating to their on-field efforts.
"Some players have some preferences, and some coaches have some preferences," the former Benfica man said. "Our coach likes the back three or back five, so we just need to go with that.
"I don’t mind playing with a back three or back four. I think it’s all about balance in the team. I saw Sporting in the Portuguese league playing as a back three with Ruben Amorim, and no one believed it could be good, and they win back to back championship for the first time in a long period of time.
"So, it could be a good thing. I don’t see it as a bad thing. But yeah, of course, some players have some preference on that, but the coach believes in this system.
"We just need to stick together and find a solution."
Next up for Bernardo's side is a home match against Aberdeen at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon, directly following events at Tynecastle between Hearts and Rangers.
