Ruben Amorim is slowly but surely fixing a problem that has plagued Manchester United for years.
A stat emerged last season revealing that Manchester United’s hectic schedule meant they had played more games with less than a 72-hour break than any other side in Europe.
Playing regularly in cup competitions, the Premier League and in Europe meant that injuries quickly piled up for the Red Devils.

Since Ruben Amorim’s appointment as head coach, there have been signs of improvement.

A fresh report from Howden explored the financial cost of injuries, and United were one of the most affected clubs in Europe.
In the past five years, United have suffered 399 injuries, more than any other top-flight English club. Chelsea rank second with 357.

The injury-related salary cost (salaries paid to injured players) for United over those five years was £154.5 million, the highest of any Premier League outfit.
Ruben Amorim is fixing Man United injury problems
Before joining United, Amorim was linked with a move to Liverpool, and the Merseyside club found that Amorim ranked highest for keeping players fit among managers in Europe.
He has brought that trait with him to Manchester, and it has benefited several players.
For example, Luke Shaw is solving his fitness issues under Amorim after transitioning to become a centre-back in his system.

Likewise, Mason Mount is becoming a key player under Amorim having previously struggled with injury problems at Old Trafford.
Lisandro Martinez’s return from injury is also being handled brilliantly to ease the Argentine back into the line-up without putting too much pressure on his recovery.
