Bruno Fernandes shares what he likes so much about Benjamin Sesko, 'he needs' one thing

Since signing from RB Leipzig, Benjamin Sesko has only had two goals for Manchester United, but Bruno Fernandes has seen enough to be pleased.

The Slovenian was signed primarily for his potential, with Manchester United hoping that he could grow with Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, the ready-made quality.

Benjamin Sesko has had a slow start at United, although his two goals don’t tell the full story of how good some of his performances have been for the club.

This is what Benjamin Sesko is really capable of!

United are pleased with Sesko’s start, with the data suggesting that he has thrived in several departments, with the goals likely to come with time.

Now, Bruno Fernandes has shared his verdict.

Bruno Fernandes hails one aspect of Benjamin Sesko’s game

Sesko has shown more than enough to feel positive about his performances thus far at United, and his captain agrees.

Speaking to Rio Ferdinand on the ‘Rio Meets’ YouTube show, Fernandes was asked whether he has been helping Sesko thus far in his time at the club.

“With Ben, I have had a lot of these conversations because I really feel he needs it. He’s a player who really needs to feel the comfort of talking with [teammates]. He’s just came in new, he’s a striker, and he knows that the pressure at this club for him will come with scoring goals or not scoring goals.

“Even knowing that, for us it is not only [goals] that we want. For example, Sunderland at home, he did an amazing game, he scored, but for me it was not the goal. It was the way he held up the ball, the way he made us go forward, the way he was so tough on their defenders to fight for the ball.”

Sesko was top class against Sunderland, offering so much in his off-the-ball work, link-up and hold-up play, while getting a much-needed home goal.

Since then, Sesko got an assist, but hasn’t added to his tally of goals; however, he should do so soon.

Sesko should be ready to kick on for Manchester United

Sesko spent substantial time injured, but finally, he is back at the perfect time for United, just as AFCON hit.

The Slovenian striker looked up to speed immediately against Bournemouth, quick and strong, while he also effectively assisted Matheus Cunha’s goal with his driving run and pass, which somehow snuck through a defender to the Brazilian’s feet.

Sesko should get lots of opportunities to score in the coming games with Cunha, Bruno Fernandes, and Mason Mount all creating lots of chances right now.

We fully expect Sesko to take advantage of this, as he returns to an attack which is much better than the one he left, even without Amad and Bryan Mbeumo.
