United in Focus reported last month that there is interest in Ruben Neves, and it seems the 28-year-old could be on the shopping list for January.

Neves is a long-term target for United, and back in 2022 the Wolves midfielder had a £75 million price tag attached.
Just a year later, Neves made a £47m move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, but his contract is up at the end of the season.

According to The Times, Neves has rejected a new deal at Al-Hilal which has put United on alert over the possibility of signing him in January.
Neves is keen to make a return to the Premier League. A price tag of £18 million is reported, although it adds that buying clubs have full negotiating power with the Portugal international set to become a free agent in the summer.
Man United can beat Newcastle to another signing
The report also mentions that Newcastle United have been put on alert as long-term admirers of Neves.
In the summer, the Red Devils tormented Newcastle by beating them to several of their transfer targets, including Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.

Newcastle bid higher than United for Sesko, but the Slovenian had his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.
The prospect of playing under compatriot Ruben Amorim and alongside Bruno Fernandes at the Theatre of Dreams could see a repeat with Neves snubbing Newcastle in January.
