Manchester United are reportedly seeking a discussion with head of referees, Howard Webb, following a series of contentious decisions. According to Mail Online, Ruben Amorim's side feel they have been on the receiving end of several incorrect major calls this season.

Old Trafford officials are, reportedly, becoming "increasingly frustrated" with the number of mistakes that have negatively impacted their Premier League campaign. It is reported that Amorim is not involved in that push for these crucial discussions.

The club's management is said to be increasingly exasperated by ongoing issues occurring during their matches. They now seek clarification from former referee Webb.

The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) are understood to have conceded that a number of incidents were due to officiating errors. United argue their former player - Aaron Wan-Bissaka - should have received a second yellow card for his late sliding tackle on Patrick Dorgu during their draw against West Ham.

They were also taken aback when Wolves' Emmanuel Agbadou's handball was not scrutinised by VAR in the 4-1 victory. It is suggested that United believe it's time for action.

Earlier this season, Webb acknowledged to United they had been wronged by an error in their loss to Brentford. Amorim's men suffered a 3-1 defeat in west London, and they believed Nathan Collins should have been sent-off.

Bruno Fernandes' penalty was saved by Caoimhin Kelleher following a foul on Bryan Mbeumo by Collins. The Bees defender was fortunate to have his goalkeeper save the day and doubly lucky to avoid a red card for holding back the United forward in the penalty area.

United - feeling hard-done-by - sought an explanation from PGMOL. United's chief executive Omar Berrada and technical director Jason Wilcox received a response from PGMOL head Webb, who conceded that referee Craig Pawson and the VAR had made a mistake.

The move for discussions by United follows a meeting between Premier League executives and PGMOL's chief - where they advocated for changes to VAR. They are pushing for top-flight matches to be officiated differently, as per Richard Bevan, CEO of the League Managers Association.

The LMA has proposed referees should be teamed up with specific video assistants to foster better partnerships. The organisation believes this will lead to more consistent officiating.
