Manchester United are reportedly demanding a meeting with referees' chief Howard Webb after a series of controversial decisions this season.

The Red Devils are said to be increasingly annoyed by the number of mistakes they believe have cost them in the Premier League. It's reported that Ruben Amorim is not involved in the push for these crucial discussions.

According to the Mail Online, the club's top bosses are growing increasingly frustrated with the ongoing issues arising in their matches and are now demanding an explanation from former referee Webb.

The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) have reportedly acknowledged that several incidents have been down to officiating errors. United believe that their former player Aaron Wan-Bissaka should have been given a second yellow card for a late sliding tackle on Patrick Dorgu during their draw against West Ham.

They were also stunned that Wolves player Emmanuel Agbadou's handball was not reviewed by VAR during their 4-1 victory. United are said to have reached the point where they feel enough is enough.

Earlier this season, Webb conceded to Manchester United that they had been on the receiving end of a mistake in their loss to Brentford. Amorim's team suffered a 3-1 defeat in west London, and they believed Nathan Collins should have seen red.

Bruno Fernandes ' penalty was saved by Caoimhin Kelleher following Collins' foul on Bryan Mbeumo. The Bees defender was saved by his goalkeeper and had a lucky escape as he avoided a red card for holding back the United forward in the penalty area.

United wrote a letter to the Professional Game Match Officials seeking clarification. United's chief executive Omar Berrada and technical director Jason Wilcox received a response from PGMO head Webb, who conceded that Craig Pawson and the VAR had erred.

The move for discussions by United follows a meeting between Premier League bosses and the PGMOL chief, where they demanded changes to VAR. They are advocating for top-flight matches to be officiated differently, according to Richard Bevan, CEO of the League Managers Association.

The LMA has proposed that referees should be teamed up with specific video assistants to foster better partnerships. The organisation believes this will lead to more consistent officiating.
