Rasmus Hojlund sends three-word message after ex-Man United star Scott McTominay left fuming

Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay were both involved heavily in Napoli's cup win over AC Milan on Thursday night, which also saw tempers flare on the pitch.

Rasmus Hojlund has posted a fun, three-word message on social media after scoring in Napoli's Supercoppa semi-final win over AC Milan - a match which also saw Scott McTominay restrained following a heated flashpoint. The 2-0 win over their title rivals booked Antonio Conte's side a place in the final - where they will take on either Bologna or Inter Milan, who meet on Friday evening.

The four-team competition, hosted in Saudi Arabia this year, features the winners and runners-up from the previous Serie A and Coppa Italia campaigns. There will be no repeat champions, with holders AC Milan now eliminated from the tournament.

Hojlund - who is currently on loan with Napoli - continued his strong start in Italy by scoring in the 63rd minute to give his team some breathing space before the closing stages. Despite the importance of the goal, the Dane's post-match social media activity raised a few eyebrows.

He posted a photo of himself lying flat on his back after falling in the aftermath of his goal. That image was also accompanied by the caption: "No context Rasmus."

Fans appeared largely unfazed by the cryptic message, instead filling the comments with praise for the striker - who seems to be rediscovering his form after departing Manchester United this summer.

Another ex-United man thriving away from Old Trafford is McTominay. He also featured against AC Milan, though his evening involved a different kind of drama.

With 81 minutes played, AC Milan were awarded a free-kick, following a challenge from the Scotland international. The ball then rolled into former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori, who appeared to kick it back towards McTominay.

Tempers quickly flared between the two sides. The atmosphere could have become even more combustible were it not for the neutral setting of Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh.

McTominay took exception to Tomori's actions and he confronted the defender, going head-to-head before Napoli forward Lorenzo Lucca intervened to hold him back.

Both players were shown yellow cards, and Napoli saw out the remainder of the match to secure their place in the Supercoppa final, which will be played on Monday night.

Back in Serie A, meanwhile, the title race remains finely balanced heading into 2026. Just three points separate the top-four, with Napoli currently sitting third, two points behind leaders Inter Milan.

Hojlund and McTominay could yet be joined by another ex-United teammate - with Kobbie Mainoo being heavily linked to a move to Naples in January's window. However, Ruben Amorim's side are said to require an 'exceptional offer' before even considering the sale of the academy graduate.
