Aston Villa head into their clash against Manchester United in search of their 10th win on the bounce in all competitions

The Midlands outfit have emerged as title contenders over recent times. They are positioned in 3rd place in the table behind Arsenal and Manchester City. Here is a look at their predicted starting XI to play against the Red Devils this weekend....

Aston Villa predicted XI vs Man United: goalkeeper and defence

GK: Emi Martinez: Aston Villa's number one has been managing a back injury over recent times. That saw Marco Bizot start between the sticks ahead of him against West Ham. However, Martinez will be assessed ahead of the match against Manchester United and they will be hoping he is fine.

RB: Matty Cash: He has had an impressive campaign to date and will get the nod again. The wing-back has been ever-present this term and has even chipped in with three goals from the back. He rocked up at Villa Park back in 2020 from Nottingham Forest and hasn't looked back since.

CB: Ezri Konsa: Aston Villa will be hoping to keep hold of him for as long as possible. It wouldn't be a surprise to see other teams start sniffing around him in the future. His contract expires in June 2028 so there is no pressure to sell him just yet.

LB: Lucas Digne: Emery may look to tweak his back line slightly by bringing in Digne for Ian Maatsen. The Frenchman could cause the Red Devils problems with his left foot from set pieces. His experience is handy and he is a dependable option to call upon.

Aston Villa predicted XI vs Man United: midfield and attack

CM: Boubakar Kamara: The 26-year-old has made 21 appearances in all competitions for Aston Villa this season, 14 of which have come in the league. He has been a good servant since his transfer in 2022. The ex-Marseille man has been putting in some solid performances of late.

CM: Amadou Onana: It initially took him a bit of time to adapt to life in the Midlands following his move from Everton last year. He has started to find his feet properly now though. The Belgium international has enjoyed a new lease of life under Emery and is playing well.

RW: John McGinn: His contract was extended last month until 2028. The Scotland international injects energy into the starting XI and is a hard worker. He will be looking to next summer's World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico after helping his country qualify through the group.

CAM: Youri Tielemans: Aston Villa are said to be ready to open talks with him over a new deal. The attacking midfielder can operate just behind the striker or in a more central role if needed. He is playing at the top of his game right now and securing him down to fresh terms would be a great bit of business.

LW: Morgan Rogers: He bagged twice against West Ham and will be full of confidence. Emery will be desperate to retain his services for as long as possible. However, other teams will surely get linked with him once again ahead of the January transfer window.

ST: Ollie Watkins: Aston Villa don't have too much competition for Watkins in attack right now. That is something they need to address this winter as he has only found the net three times in this campaign. He will lead the line again against Manchester United.
