Manchester United stars Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire are still not back from injury

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed the injury situation remains unchanged ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa, with the squad also missing players at AFCON

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed that no injured players will be returning for this Sunday's match against Aston Villa. Meanwhile, he is set to lose four players, making team selection a challenging process this weekend.

, currently sitting sixth in the table, are set to face a side three places above them. While they can't overtake their opposition before Christmas, a win could narrow the gap and potentially propel them into the top four, depending on other results.

During his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, addressed injury concerns, stating: "I think everyone is well, we have one more training but today the rest of the guys are ready to go.

"Nobody recovers and nobody else is out - just the guys you already know."

With no reinforcements to count on, United have also lost Amad, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui as the trio join their national teams for the , which takes place over the festive period and into January 2026. Elsewhere, midfielder Casemiro is another who will miss the Villa clash.
