Leeds United 1 Man United 1: Lee Sobot's video verdict
The latest transfer talk from Elland Road as Leeds United look to add to their squad during the January transfer window.
Leeds United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have all been credited with an interest in one of Croatian football’s brightest prospects.
The Whites are believed to be keen to add to their options in attacking areas during the January transfer window with a winger and an attack-minded midfielder said to be on the agenda. A number of players from home and abroad have been linked with a move to Elland Road in recent weeks - but a new name is now on the radar after Leeds were said to be keen on Croatia Under-19 striker Karlo Simic.
The 18-year-old spent time within the youth setup at St Pauli before joining Wolfsburg during the summer of 2017. Simic has become a regular goalscorer within the Bundesliga club’s academy after plundering his way to a combined 30 goals in 60 appearances across the Under-17 and Under-19 age groups. The youngster has also scored three goals in nine appearances for Croatia Under-19s and is widely expected to make the step up to senior level at club and international level over the coming years.
Croatian newspaper 24Sata have claimed Leeds are showing a serious interest in the striker but will face major competition from Juventus and Atletico Madrid - although there is no mention of a possible fee.

Eight summer signings were named in Daniel Farke’s starting eleven with two others named amongst the substitutes as the Whites extended their unbeaten run to a seventh game and moved eight points clear of the relegation zone. Despite an impressive display across the side, former Whites defender Aidy White has suggested Leeds ‘probably could have done better’ with the £15.6m deal they agreed for Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri after the former Lyon man produced a mixed performance at Elland Road.
He told BBC Radio Leeds: “He’s hesitant, his kicking’s not very good. I think with the budget, we probably could have done better in my opinion. It’s still a lot of money to fork out on a goalkeeper, and we could have done better. If anything, I think maybe Darlow, in my opinion, could quite easily come in and play. I don’t think he will. I think Farke will stick with Perri. But Meslier, it’s too far gone for me now.”

James Debayo has joined Championship promotion contenders Hull City almost seven months after his departure from Leeds United.
The former England Under-18 international came through the Whites academy system and made two senior appearances before leaving the club at the end of last season. His career will now resume with Hull after he penned an 18-month deal with the Tigers and the Championship club also have an option of a further 12 months.
After putting pen-to-paper, Debayo told the club website: "A couple of months ago, I came in to train with the boys to get a feel for the place - I really liked it, and luckily, I'm here permanently now. I feel I can progress here, become a more experienced player and get more games under my belt."
