Everton competition prompts Juventus to turn to Manchester United defender

Juventus are looking at Manchester United’s Noussair Mazraoui as an alternative to Everton target Brooke Norton-Cuffy.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport. They cover the Serie A side’s interest in the Manchester United and Genoa players.

On Friday, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Everton are assessing Norton-Cuffy and Bologna’s Emil Holm as they look to improve the right-back position.

Gazzetta report the Old Lady are first focusing on signing a winger and a fullback this month.

Norton-Cuffy is a target for the fullback position. The newspaper state Everton are keen and are providing ‘strong competition’ to Juventus.

It’s unlikely the Turin club will try to financially compete with David Moyes’ side to sign the 21-year-old. This has ‘prompted’ Juve to consider other options, and this is where Mazraoui comes into the picture.

Juve’s interest in the 28-year-old Morocco international isn’t new as they already explored the possibility of signing him in August. They have now rekindled their interest, with Everton interest in Norton-Cuffy a nudge.

Mazraoui, who can operate across the back line, has played nine matches for Manchester United this season. He’s currently with the national team at the ongoing AFCON.

As well as Mazraoui, Juventus have Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey on their target list.
