Nottingham Forest are ‘light years away’ from signing Douglas Luiz on a permanent basis from Juventus.
That’s according to Tuttosport. They cover the Forest loanee today and how a permanent switch is looking very unlikely.
According to the newspaper, few at Juventus had predicted that Luiz’s loan deal at Nottingham Forest would go so badly. The Italian giants felt confident that the €28.5m fixed fee they agreed for the permanent transfer would be paid at some point.
That was conditional on appearances in the Premier League. And Luiz has only managed five of those so far. He needs to hit 15, and 45 minutes in each of them, for the loan to become permanent.
Nottingham Forest have seemingly made it clear that they don’t want the Brazilian. Signing him permanently is seen as being ‘light years away’ from their plans.
The appearance ‘boomerang’ has backfired on Juventus, who are now considering their options. They could even recall Luiz this month, particularly if Nottingham Forest’s attempts for Davide Frattesi prove fruitful.
Juventus have simply realised what Nottingham Forest’s intentions are. They don’t want the midfielder permanently. They’re activating Plan B, which could involve cancelling the loan and sending him elsewhere in the Premier League.
