Manchester United may be bracing for another setback after learning of Yan Diomande’s big wish should he leave RB Leipzig.
After missing out on Antoine Semenyo, who opted for Manchester City instead, United quickly identified Diomande as the perfect alternative to fill that void.
Yet while the Leipzig winger offers everything Semenyo would have brought, two major obstacles stand in the way of his pursuit.
Transfer battle and suitors piling up
Diomande will not come cheap. It would take astronomical figures to prise him away from the Red Bull Arena. Ordinarily, such a hefty asking price might deter clubs, but in this case, it has not.
Top sides remain willing to break the bank for the Ivorian international. After all, everyone wants an explosive, pacy winger who combines elite two‑footed dribbling with raw physical strength to drive the ball forward and create chances in the final third, qualities Diomande embodies.
The Red Devils, therefore, have been preparing for a fierce battle over the 19‑year‑old. However, a game‑changing update has now emerged in the race.
Diomande opens up on dream move
A video currently circulating shows Diomande revealing the Premier League clubs he dreams of representing.
Transcribed by Give Me Sport, the winger openly admits:
“I want to play at Anfield, I want to play for Liverpool.
“I’m a big Liverpool fan. My father’s dream is to see me play for Liverpool.”

Deja vu after Semenyo saga
These admissions will frustrate United, who could see history repeat itself after the Semenyo disappointment
Just as Semenyo favoured a rival, Diomande appears to prefer Liverpool, and unfortunately for United, the Merseyside club are also keen.
If Liverpool intensifies its pursuit of the Bundesliga hotshot, INEOS may struggle to compete, leaving them nursing further frustrations.
Manchester United’s counter‑move
Even so, reports relayed by The Peoples Person suggest United have already tabled a mouth‑watering five‑year deal.
Their swift, bold approach underlines how serious they are, and with agent Amad Diallo’s influence on his compatriot, the Red Devils will hope they can still sway the Bundesliga sensation.
