The January transfer window presents an opportunity for players to move clubs midway through the season, as several Manchester United players are linked with exits.
Manchester United have a clear stance when it comes to the January transfer window. Sir Jim Ratcliffe does not want to overspend and fears there is no value in the market.
Ineos seemingly came to that realisation after United missed out on Antoine Semenyo. The Ghana international left Bournemouth for Man City after his release clause was activated earlier this week.
United also attempted to sign Carlos Baleba, but Brighton are pushing to keep the defensive midfielder until the end of the season.

That means United are likely to wait until the summer to add to their squad, although that could change if any players leave this month.
Manuel Ugarte has been linked with Ajax and other clubs, while Joshua Zirkzee has attracted interest from Roma. Both players were on the fringes of the team under Ruben Amorim, but it remains to be seen if Darren Fletcher or the next interim head coach wants to include the duo in his plans for the remainder of the season.

Roma get green light for Joshua Zirkzee deal despite Ruben Amorim’s sacking
United sacked Amorim on Monday after 14 months as head coach.

The decision came following poor results as well as Amorim’s decision to challenge Ineos after United’s 1-1 draw with Leeds at Elland Road.
Zirkzee is currently seen as a backup option to Benjamin Sesko, with Fletcher overlooking the Netherlands international in his first line-up as interim head coach on Wednesday night.
It remains to be seen if Zirkzee will be given a starting role when United host Brighton in the FA Cup third round on Sunday, but reporter Dean Jones believes the forward will be allowed to leave Old Trafford regardless of Amorim’s dismissal.
Roma feared a change in management could lead to United giving Zirkzee another chance to prove himself in the team, but Jones claims they have received assurances that a January deal can still go ahead.
“Joshua Zirkzee to Roma is another target to look out for, Roma were a bit worried,” Jones said during a Facebook livestream for TEAMtalk.
“Roma were worried when Ruben Amorim lost his job at Man United.
“That threw Roma a bit because they had informally agreed that Zirkzee would be coming to them, but I’m told they have had reassurances that from here they will go on and sign Zirkzee, so I think that is interesting.”

Zirkzee could join Roma on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy in the summer.
Joshua Zirkzee record for Man Utd this season
Zirkzee has made 15 appearances for United this season and has continued to struggle to score goals.
The 24-year-old has scored just two goals for United since the beginning of the season, with the most recent goal coming in the 1-1 draw against relegation-bound Wolves.
It remains to be seen how many more games Zirkzee will play for United, whether he leaves this month or continues to fight for a place in the team for the remainder of the season.
