Report suggests Manchester United could now lose £13m player because of Everton move

Everton have often done business with Manchester United.

The Toffees have previously signed Morgan Schneiderlin and Donny van de Beek from the Red Devils, while the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney have gone the opposite way to Old Trafford.

Now, however – according to Gazzetta dello Sport – a move made by Everton could see Manchester United face a fight to keep Noussair Mazraoui away from Juventus.

‘Strong’ Everton interest in Brooke Norton-Cuffy causes Juventus to consider Noussair Mazraoui

A report from Sky Sports claimed Everton like Norton-Cuffy of Genoa as The Friedkin Group search for a new right-back.

Which right-back would you like to see Everton sign in January? 🤑

“I want my full-backs to create more goals.

“Let’s be fair, at most clubs you need your number nines to be scoring. We’re not hiding away from that fact, but it should not take away from us needing our number fives to score from corner kicks, or assists coming from the full-backs.”

Now, Gazzetta dello Sport have added an update of their own, claiming that Everton are strongly interested in the former Arsenal man, so much so that Juventus are making new plans.

The Italian giants have turned their attention towards Mazraoui, who is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, and registered their interest.

Ruben Amorim has been sacked while the Manchester United No.3 has been away, and Gazzetta dello Sport claim the 28-year-old is now considering an exit from Old Trafford this winter.

So, Juventus are quite clearly concerned about Everton signing Norton-Cuffy given how seriously they are now taking a deal for Mazraoui, who Manchester United paid £12.8m to sign from Bayern Munich in August 2024.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy agreement could see Nathan Patterson depart

Nathan Patterson made a rare start in the FA Cup defeat against Sunderland, just his second of the campaign as Jake O’Brien is often preferred at right-back, despite being a central defender.

Could Nathan Patterson have offered Everton more from right-back than Jake O’Brien? 🤔

However, Sevilla are interested in taking Patterson on loan, and Everton are considering the chance to send the Scotland international away to build up his match fitness amid a spell of niggling injuries.

The Toffees won’t sanction any departure before a replacement is found though, given how little depth David Moyes already has in the right-back department.

So, if a move for Norton-Cuffy does happen to materialise, it may give Patterson the green light to leave Everton on loan.
