Man Utd are weighing up options for a permanent manager as they plan to appoint a caretaker for the remainder of the season
Manchester United plan to take their time with finding Ruben Amorim’s long-term successor as they seek to appoint a caretaker manager until the end of the campaign before making a permanent appointment in the summer.
All three men are currently in charge of international teams and could be available once the World Cup comes to an end in the summer.
Speaking about Ancelotti, transfer expert Duncan Castles has revealed the United job has always appealed to the former Real Madrid and AC Milan boss.
“Carlo Ancelotti, I think is interesting, because Ancelotti, I heard a long time ago, in fact, when he was Chelsea coach, from someone close to him, that he has always coveted the Manchester United job and wanted an opportunity to do that before he retired,” he said on The Football Transfers podcast.
Ancelotti has won several major trophies throughout his managerial career. He has five Champions League titles to his name, winning two with AC Milan and three with Real Madrid.
He has experience managing in England too, having won the Premier League and FA Cup with Chelsea in 2010 while he also had a stint in charge of Everton. He left Madrid at the end of the 2024-25 season and has been in charge of the Brazilian national team since May and will lead them into the World Cup this summer.
In total, he has managed more then 1,400 games and would certainly bring a wealth of experience to Old Trafford if the Red Devils were able to convince him to join the club once his time with Brazil comes to a close.
