Cameroon knocked out of AFCON: Morocco secured a 2-0 win over Cameroon on Friday in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup Of Nations. Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari scored the goals to secure the tournament hosts' spot in the final four.

Bryan Mbeumo to return to Old Trafford: As a result of Cameroon exiting AFCON, Mbeumo is now set to return to Manchester United to kick on with the rest of 2025/26. The forward has missed five games for Manchester United as a result of the tournament.

United set to face Brighton in the FA Cup: The Reds play host to the Seagulls in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday. Kick-off is slated for 4.30pm.

Mbeumo ruled out of clash: Darren Fletcher has confirmed that Mbeumo will not take part in Sunday's match. Speaking about whether the 26-year-old would be available for selection, the interim head coach said: "I don't think so. I think it's too close a turnaround, so we'll have the same players available for the game as we had against Burnley." Read the full story here.

Noussair Mazraoui also unavailable: As a result of Morocco progressing to the semi-finals of AFCON, he will also be unavailable for selection against Brighton. He will remain at the tournament until at least January 17, when the third-place play-off takes place.

Amad also set for return: The Ivory Coast were also beaten in the quarter-finals as Egypt ran out 3-2 winners over the nation on Saturday evening. It means that Amad is set to return to the north west in the coming days, although he will also miss Sunday's FA Cup clash. Read the full story here.
