Manchester United interim boss Darren Fletcher is expected to name a strong team for this afternoon's FA Cup third round tie against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Reds divert their attention away from the Premier League to embark on their journey for cup success. After winning the trophy in 2024 under Erik ten Hag, they will hope to improve on last season's fifth-round exit.

Today's game is set to be Fletcher's last game in interim charge following Ruben Amorim's sacking, and the former United midfielder has already confirmed he has the same squad available to him from the 2-2 draw at Burnley.

After crashing out of the Carabao Cup to League Two side Grimsby Town in August, United are desperate for a cup run. That means changes are expected to be minimal, despite the excitement around JJ Gabriel and a possible first-team debut.

Fletcher told The Manchester Evening News in his pre-match press conference that today's game is "a little bit early" for the 15-year-old. However, Shea Lacey came off the bench at Turf Moor on Wednesday and showed promising signs.

The 18-year-old is yet to start for United this season, but today's FA Cup game could offer him the chance to do so. Jack Fletcher, Fletcher's son, was also in the squad at Burnley and may be a consideration.

Despite the high likelihood that United will field a strong squad today, changes to the starting XI are anticipated. Bayindir has been the second choice under Senne Lammens since the latter's summer arrival and could start.

Harry Maguire's return from injury means a new-look defence could start. Tyrell Malacia will also be hoping for a rare start at left-back. In midfield, both Tyler and Jack Fletcher will be keen to impress, with Joshua Zirkzee, who is now set to stay at the club, may get the nod ahead of Benjamin Sesko.

With that being said, MEN Sport predicts the 20-man squad Fletcher will name this afternoon:

Goalkeepers: Senne Lammens, Altay Bayindir

Defenders: Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Patrick Dorgu, Ayden Heaven, Tyrell Malacia

Midfielders: Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Tyler Fletcher, Jack Fletcher, Shea Lacey.

Attackers: Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, Joshua Zirkzee.
