Juventus could recall Douglas Luiz and send him to a different Premier League side as they worry the midfielder won’t make the appearances needed to trigger a permanent move to Nottingham Forest.
Luiz has been unable to establish himself as a regular starter at the City Ground since joining on loan from the Italian giants in the summer. That is causing concern at Juventus, according to Tuttosport, with a plan B now under consideration.
The Serie A side are keen to get a big fee for the Brazilian midfielder, but feel that may not happen at Forest. A £24.7m buy clause is reportedly written into Luiz’s loan deal but for that to be enacted, he needs to make 15 appearances of at least 45 minutes in the Premier League.
It means games like Friday night, when Luiz played nearly 90 minutes in the FA Cup defeat at Wrexham, will not count towards fulfilling the clause.
In fact, so far, Luiz has played 45 minutes or more in just five Premier League fixtures, meaning he would need to do so 10 more times in the final 17 games to trigger the payment.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus feel that is some way off and are now thinking about an alternative plan.
It’s reported that they could recall him from Forest and send him to another Premier League side, knowing that his stock remains reasonably high because of the quality he showed during his time with Aston Villa.
The plan would then be to stick a similar clause in a new loan deal and hope that proves profitable for them.

What has been ruled out is Luiz being recalled and returning to the Juventus squad. It seems he’ll only be leaving Forest if Juventus can find a new club for him.
