Manchester United could still experience a busy conclusion to the January transfer window, according to recent reports. The Reds are yet to bring in any new signings this month, but have until February 2 to finalise any transfer business should they choose to do so.

Over the past week, United have been searching for a replacement for Ruben Amorim, who departed Old Trafford last Monday following their Premier League draw with Leeds United.

Since Amorim's exit, Darren Fletcher has taken charge on an interim basis, overseeing a draw with Burnley in the Premier League and a defeat to Brighton in the FA Cup third round.

It is unclear what United's plans will be for the remaining three weeks before the January transfer window closes, with speculation already mounting regarding potential targets the club may be considering, reports the Mirror.

Here, the Manchester Evening News examines some of the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumours that have made headlines over the past 24 hours.

Elliot Anderson 'stance'

United's intentions regarding Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson have reportedly emerged. Fabrizio Romano has revealed on the Market Madness podcast that United are anticipated to be "busy" recruiting midfielders this year, though not until the summer window.

Anderson is reportedly a player of interest to United, according to Romano, with the club understood to be "serious contenders" to secure the midfielder's signature at the end of the campaign.

Anderson isn't the only midfielder on United's radar, according to Romano, with Brighton's Carlos Baleba also reportedly a target.

Blackburn starlet 'in demand'

United are said to be interested in Blackburn Rovers' young talent Igor Tyjon. The Sun reports that United are among the clubs expressing interest in signing Tyjon this summer when his scholarship deal at Ewood Park concludes.

United will apparently face competition from Arsenal for the 17-year-old's signature, with the Gunners named as the most probable destination for Tyjon should he leave Blackburn.

It's been suggested that Rovers have previously turned down offers of £1million for Tyjon, and the Championship side would be due compensation if he were to join another English club this summer when his deal expires.
