Michael Carrick latest
Michael Carrick has impressed Ineos during the interview process and further talks are planned to thrash out a deal.
United have also put a self-imposed deadline in place to make an appointment, aiming to do so by Wednesday.
Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett explains via X: “Michael Carrick in pole position to be new #mufc interim manager, tho no final decision taken.
“More detailed talks with Carrick today about contract and staff -no such talks with Solskjaer are planned, although he remains an option. United want new man in by Wed to prep for #mcfc.”
