One fringe Manchester United player is reportedly on his way out of the club this month
Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte will “100 per cent leave” the club this month, according to claims coming out of Turkey.
The Uruguayan had been a bit-part player under Ruben Amorim but started both games under Darren Fletcher as he was given the nod to be in the starting XI for the draw with Burnley and the FA Cup loss against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray, who are 18th in the Champions League table after six games, are interest in signing Ugarte this month.
“So you have an agreement with the player, yes. But you know, there is a club side to this, when you have an agreement with the player side, it doesn't end.”
“Galatasaray continues its contacts regarding Manuel Ugarte. Names such as Muslera and Torreira are in talks with the player about Galatasaray. Galatasaray wants to rent him with a loan purchase option. The player will leave Manchester United 100%,” said the Turkish reporter.
It was claimed earlier this month that Galatasaray had offered a loan deal with an option to buy but an agreement has not been reached as the Red Devils want a conditional option to buy.
While Ugarte was fancied by Fletcher, it remains to be seen what his place in the squad will be under Michael Carrick.
The Uruguayan was recently criticised by former United midfielder Nicky Butt.
“Ugarte is not a Manchester United midfielder in a million years. Not in a million years he’s a Man United midfielder.
“That’s just one example of the recruitment and how they keep getting it wrong. They keep getting it wrong all the time with the players they’re bringing in and that’s a fact.”
