Sources: Carrick set to bring former England coach to Man Utd as part of staff alongside…

Manchester United are close to appointing Michael Carrick as their new interim manager, and he's set to bring in former England coach Steve Holland to his staff, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

GIVEMESPORT sources confirmed on Monday that Carrick was looking to bring former Tottenham Hotspur defender Jonathan Woodgate as part of his coaching staff, with United hoping to confirm Carrick's appointment very soon. United have now agreed to bring Carrick to the club, beating Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the race to become their new manager for the rest of the season.

Carrick looks set to be the replacement for Ruben Amorim, who was relieved of his duties earlier this month. Whether Carrick will be appointed as permanent manager remains to be seen, but he's set to be given the opportunity to help try and steer them in the right direction for the time being.

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Carrick is now assembling his coaching staff as he closes in on a move to Manchester United. Jonathan Woodgate, Jonny Evans and Travis Binnion will form part of Carrick's staff, while former England coach Holland is also set to join the club.

Carrick's first game in charge will be against Manchester City in the derby at the weekend. After discussions this week, it's been decided that Darren Fletcher, who was placed in interim charge after Ruben Amorim's sacking, will return to his role as U18 coach.
