Everything you need to know about the odds for the next permanent Manchester United head coach, as the search for a successor to Ruben Amorim runs on...

Michael Carrick favoured: Bet365 have Michael Carrick as their favourite to become the next permanent Manchester United head coach, pricing the Englishman at 8/11. The former Reds star was today announced as the club's interim head coach, and is also favourite to take up permanent tenure come season's end.

Gareth Southgate emerges as contender: Southgate has been out of the managerial game since he parted ways with the England national team after Euro 2024. However, he is priced at 5/1 to return to coaching with Man United this summer.

Oliver Glasner still remains in the mix: The Austrian is out of contract at Selhurst Park this summer, and could opt to make the move to Old Trafford for the next stage of his career. The bookmakers have him down at 8/1 at the time of writing.

Xabi Alonso on the move: The Spaniard recently parted ways with Real Madrid via "mutual consent," just seven-and-a-half months after his appointment. Alonso certainly knows the English game having played a portion of his professional career with Liverpool. He is priced at 12/1 at present.

Thomas Tuchel the outsider: Tuchel holds odds of 14/1 at the moment, which comes as no surprise considering he is currently gearing up for the 2026 World Cup with England.

Carlo Ancelotti's odds of Premier League return revealed: The Italian head coach has already enjoyed stints with Chelsea and Everton on English soil, but is currently at the reins of Brazil. Ancelotti's odds of 16/1 reflect the likelihood of him ditching the nation ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Julian Nagelsmann emerges: Also at 16/1, the likelihood of Nagelsmann parting ways with his native Germany ahead of the World Cup are incredibly slim.

Roberto De Zerbi linked with move: The Marseille head coach has also seen his name tossed into the hat by bookmakers - currently 20/1 to switch Ligue 1 for the Premier League with United.
