Sky Sports: UCL giants eyeing move for 'one of Man Utd's best signings in the last 10 years'

Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui in January, Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed.

The Serie A giants are reportedly looking to sign a new right-back this month and have identified Mazraoui as another option alongside Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza.

Juventus are facing competition from Premier League side Aston Villa for Mingueza’s signature and could move for Mazraoui if they are unable to secure the Spaniard.

Mazraoui is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, who await a semi-final clash against Nigeria on Wednesday.

According to Sky Sports journalist Di Marzio, Mazraoui is seen as one of two defensive targets for Juventus in January, although interest in Mingueza appears more advanced at present.

Juventus sporting director Marco Ottolini was reportedly in Spain over the weekend to watch Mingueza in action against Sevilla and attempt to close the deal for the right-back.

The Spanish international’s contract expires in less than six months, while Man United are in a strong negotiating position for Mazraoui, whose deal runs until June 2028.

The 28-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024 and has made 66 appearances to date, registering three assists, and has been described as 'one of the best signings of the last ten years'. Mazraoui has only played 443 minutes of Premier League football for United this season, having been set back by two separate injuries at the start of the campaign.

He has missed the last six league matches for United while at AFCON, during which the club has won just once.

Man Utd to Appoint Michael Carrick

Michael Carrick

Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle to appoint Michael Carrick as the new interim head coach until the end of the season.

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Carrick is expected to bring in at least four new members to his coaching staff, with Jonathan Woodgate, Jonny Evans and Travis Binnion all set to join.

Current interim boss Darren Fletcher was also offered an opportunity to join Carrick’s backroom team but declined and will return to his role as U18 coach. Carrick’s first game in charge is expected to be against Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Manchester United have yet to conduct any major transfer business in January and remain reluctant to offload striker Joshua Zirkzee following Ruben Amorim’s sacking.

Serie A side Roma are long-term admirers of the forward, but their sporting director, Ricky Massara, revealed this week that United have ‘closed all doors’ on a potential Zirkzee exit amid the looming managerial change at Old Trafford.
