West Ham flop appointed Real Madrid manager

**One of West Ham’s worst ever players has the biggest job in football.**

West Ham have had some horrid, and I mean absolutely horrific, players over the years. While some of the current players are trying their hardest to add their names to that list, they’d find it hard to put in an individual performance worse than Alvaro Arbeloa did against Arsenal in 2016.

After having an impressive career for Real Madrid, the Spaniard moved to East London to end it. Unfortunately, he was well past his best at this point, making just 4 appearances for the club.

The infamous 5-1 defeat at home to Arsenal was a disaster all round, but his performance was absolutely horrific. Largely because of this match, Arbeloa is remembered for being one of the Hammers worst signings in the last decade.

However, he’s bagged himself the biggest managerial job in the world as he is now the head coach of his former club Real Madrid, following Xabi Alonso’s departure.

In fairness, he’s really earned it. He’s been working his way up through the youth ranks, he’s devoted massive portions of his playing career and coaching career to the club. It’s nice to see a team of that stature reward loyalty.
